Texting and Driving...

They DON'T mix

Texting is an involved task. It takes at least 5 seconds and often more for a simple text.. enough time to cover quite a distance without focusing on your driving.

In 2011, at least 23% of auto collisions, or about 1.3 million collisions, involved cell phones.

With these high numbers, many states have passed laws limiting or prohibiting texting while driving. Know the law.

Please drive safely and save the texting for when you're off the road!

Learn while staying safe

Science labs can provide some of the best learning experiences, but they can be dangerous.

Make sure to follow all instructions very carefully. Without proper experience, it ' hard to know what could happen with certain experiments.

Be sure to use all suggested protective gear to remain safe. Eye goggles, gloves, and lab coats are a few common items. Be aware of your safety resources, such as eye washing stations.

Don't tolerate bullying

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior, most often among school-aged children, that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.

Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.

There are many roles that kids can play. Kids can bully others, they can be bullied, or they may witness bullying.

It is important to understand the multiple roles kids play in order to effectively prevent and respond to bullying.
